Excursion Opportunity – Pixley National Wildlife Refuge, Pixley, CA

When:  Saturday, Nov. 8 - Event 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Carpool information below*)                                                       

Where:  Pixley National Wildlife Refuge – Rd. 88, Pixley, CA 93256

What:  See the Return of the Sandhill Cranes!

Sandhill Cranes are one of North America’s largest birds. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see the sights and hear the sounds of these magnificent cranes as well as thousands of other migratory birds that make the wetland habitat of the Pixley National Wildlife Refuge their temporary winter home as they migrate from Alaska and Canada to the southern regions. Wildlife specialists will be on hand to provide insight and education. Bring the entire family as this will be a great experience for all ages.

 What to bring:  Layered clothing, sturdy walking shoes, flashlight, and binoculars (optional)

 

*If you would like to carpool, we will meet on Oak St. in front of First Presbyterian Church Visalia – departing at 3:00 PM and returning home at approximately 7:00 PM
